Heading into the 2022-23 NHL season, I’m going to look at every team to see how they are looking going into the season.

2021-22:
The Dallas Stars finished the season with a 46-30-6 record, good for 98 points and 4th in the Central Division. The Stars took the 1st Wild Card spot and ended up losing in round 1 of the playoffs to the Calgary Flames in 7 games.
Draft: The Stars had 1 draft pick for every round except the last round. They ended up drafting 4 defensemen, 1 forward, and 1 goaltender. For their first round pick they drafted defenseman Lian Bishcel from Switzerland. Bischel played his first season in the SHL last season and finished with 3 points in 29 games. In the 2nd round they drafted another defenseman, Christian Kyrou. The brother of Jordan Kyrou had 60 points in 68 games for his first full season in the OHL. They drafted goalie Maxim Mayorov in the 5th round. Mayorov played in the MHL last season in Russia and he finished with a .931 SV% and it looks like he could get some KHL action this season so I would watch for him.
Additions:
The Stars added a couple players to their roster over the offseason. The first one they signed to a contract was former Panther, Mason Marchment. Marchment had a career year with the Panthers getting 47 points in 54 games. Last season was his second full season in the NHL (he played 4 games with the Leafs in 2019-20) and he has proved that he can compete. They also signed Colin Miller from the Sabres. The defenseman had 14 points in 38 games last season, his most since he played with the Golden Knights from 2017-19. Finally, they added another defenseman, Will Butcher. Butcher spent last season with the Sabres getting 8 points in 37 games. However, he is more known for his time with the Devils where he got 106 points in 238 games.
Losses:
The Stars lost a decent amount of high quality players from their roster over the offseason. The biggest loss that the Stars are going to feel is from defenseman John Klingberg. Klingberg has been with the Stars for 8 seasons until he signed with the Ducks over the offseason. Klingberg had 47 points in 74 games last season, his highest since 2017-18. The Stars also lost forward. Vladislav Namestnikov. Namestnikov had 30 points in 75 games last season and 2 points in all 7 games during the playoffs. Forward Alexander Radulov signed in the KHL over the offseason. Radulov has been a great player for the Stars over the seasons including his 18 points in 27 games during the Stars cup run, but he only had 22 points in 71 games last season.
Who to look for:
I would expect Jake Oettinger to have another tremendous season this season. He had a .914 SV% in his 2nd NHL season and he was kept in the AHL for way too long at the beginning of last season. Forward Riley Barber has spent most of his career in the AHL. In the NHL he has played a total of 16 games with 3 different teams. However, he had a career best 1.08 Points Per Game last season with the Hershey Bears.
Prediction:
The Stars filled the holes that they lost over the offseason. I feel they will do about the same with the playoffs in their future once again.
